Men's Golf
The Bluffton University men's golf team tied for 3rd place at the Bluffton Spring Invite on Sunday, April 2. With the blustery winds and hail from Saturday in the rearview mirror, the Beavers showed out with a 300 on Sunday. The 12-over par established a new school mark for 18 holes.
Leading the way was senior Evan Kujawa (Toledo/Start) who tied for 6th with a 74. Nathan Eberle (Grove City) and Dominic Castelvetere (Ontario) both checked in with 75's and Hunter Jolliff (Elida) rounded out the scoring four with a 76 on Sunday.
Sophomore Brayden Tosi (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) paced the 'B' Team with a 75, giving Bluffton five players who carded scores between 74 and 76! Clay Quellhorst (St. Marys/Memorial) went for 81, Nick Offenburger (Lexington) 83, Justin Metsker (Burbank/Wickliffe) 84 and Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) 88 for the Beavers.
The Bluffton men will jump back into action on Friday, April 7, when they make the short trip to Colonial Golf Club outside Lima for the ONU Invite.
Women's Golf
The Bluffton University women's golf team meant business when it hit the links on Sunday, April 2, 2023. While trying to play golf on Saturday turned out to be an April Fools joke, the Beavers had their ducks in a row at Hidden Creek on Sunday. Bluffton took 3rd with a school-record 327, breaking the previous mark by two strokes.
Sophomore Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) claimed the silver medal with her best-ever round at Bluffton, a four-over 76 that was just three strokes behind medalist Grace Honigford from Ohio Northern. It is also the 2nd-lowest score in Bluffton history! Running mate Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) tied for 9th with an 81 on Sunday.
Senior Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) and sophomore Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery) put up scores of 83 and 87, respectively. Cheyanne Bolden (Sidney) and Sara Kroeger (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) rounded out the women's scoring with 100 and 103 on Sunday.
The Bluffton women will jump back into action on Friday, April 7, when they make the short trip to Colonial Golf Club outside Lima for the ONU Invite.
