Syd Lewis Gwin owned a construction business

Syd Lewis Gwin, 34, passed away April 8, 2023 in Columbia, South Carolina. Syd was born July 4, 1988 in Shelby, Ohio to Herman Gwin and Julie Cukrowicz. On August 30, 2014, he married Abigail Steiner Gwin, who survives.
Syd was a graduate of Ashland High School. He owned and operated his own construction business. Syd enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, motorcycles, camping, kayaking and snow skiing with his family.
Survivors include his father, Herman L. Gwin of Mansfield, Ohio; his mother, Julie A. Gwin of Lexington, Ohio; his wife, Abigail Gwin of Pandora; three daughters, Grace, Chloe and Aria Gwin of Pandora; two brothers, Blake Gwin of Mansfield, Dustin Stechschulte of Pandora; a sister, Crystal (Levi Wise) Gwin of Mansfield; a nephew, Charlie Vansickle of Mansfield; an aunt, Amy (Ronnie) Frazier of Bellville, Ohio; an uncle, Kevin Cukrowicz of Sarasota, Florida; and a maternal grandmother, Marcia Chapman of Alliance, Ohio.
Syd was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Brian Cukrowicz.
A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m.. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton with Pastor Bob Clinger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
