A golden May at the Senior Center
"Blooming flowers, graduations, fishing derbies, Memorial Day weekend. There is a lot to like about May. May this month bring you warm sunshine and happiness," opens the May 2023 Golden Age News, published monthly by the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.
The newsletter is a monthly reminder of the activities and resources available at 132 N. Main St. Among special opportunities this month:
- Area Agency on Aging's Tai Chi class starting May 15 and running through July 13 on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The 10- week class is free but registration is required.
- RTA bus trip to Delphos on May 18 at 8:45 a.m. The group will board the bus at 8:45 a.m. in front of Town Hall, 154 N. Main. The Canal Museum will be open that day and the Creamery will open at 11 a.m. Costs are paid by the individual. An RTA day pass is $3. Sign up at the Senior Center.
- A Johnny Appleseed Metro Parks program on moths on May 31 at 2:30 p.m. Dan Hodges will be talking about those pesky insects that eat clothing and the beautiful ones that are mistaken for butterflies.
- On May 31 at 10 a.m. the Area Agency on Aging is conducting focus groups to talk to individuals over the age of 60 or with disabilities about options and opportunities in transportation and to help cover any gaps that are found in the current systems.
