Carol Jean Musser co-owned J.F. Musser Co.
Carol Jean Musser, 80, passed away May 16, 2023 at the Meadows of Ottawa. Carol was born March 21, 1943 in Glandorf to the late Oscar and Adaline (Knippen) Kleman. On May 9, 1964, she married Jerry Musser and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2016.
Carol, along with her husband Jerry, owned a business, J.F. Musser Co. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Glandorf. Family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her life. Carol also loved to travel and spend time with the Friday Night dinner group.
Survivors include a very special friend, James Recker of Glandorf; four daughters, Chris (Jeff) Thompson of Wapakoneta, Sandy (Dan) Wade of Bluffton, South Carolina, Trisha (Steve) Stewart of Lebanon, Ohio, Karen Musser (Jeff Martz) of Bluffton; six grandchildren, Brant Thompson, Trevor (Tera) Thompson, Madison (Chris) Staggs, Spencer (Kala) Stewart, Logan (Alaina) Skelly, Lydia (Braeden) Edwards; six great-grandchildren, Gavin, Harper Jo, Avery, Mason, Noah and Finley; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Kleman of Chillicothe, Ohio, Barbara Kleman of Ottawa and several extended family members including the Klemans and Erfords.
Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Louann (Cornelius) Niese, Raymond Kleman, Leroy (Nancy) Kleman, Arthur (Betty) Kleman and Norman Kleman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton with Father Luyen Dau officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton where a wake service will take place at 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Meadows of Ottawa.
Carol's family extends its gratitude to the entire staff of the Meadows of Ottawa.
