Pirate boys 2nd, girls 5th at district track meet in Ada

The Bluffton High School track and field teams competed well at the Div. III district meet Thursday and Saturday at Ada’s War Memorial Stadium.
The Pirate boys came in second in the standings among 14 teams, behind only champion Columbus Grove.
CONTINUES
Riverdale captured the girls team crown, with the Pirate girls finishing fifth among 15 teams.
Bluffton took home several first-place finishes behind their corps of strong middle distance runners.
Landon Armstrong won the boys 800 meters, while Eden Antrim captured the 1600.
Carson Kruse sailed to first in the 300 hurdles. Brianna Taber cleared the bar highest in the pole vault.
The Bluffton boys 4 x 400 relay quartet crossed the line first. The Pirate boys and girls foursomes swept to first in both of the 4 x 800 relay races.
Top four finishers in an event qualified for the regional meet next week.
