Barbara Ann Zimmerly was a Hancock County Chief Deputy Treasurer

Barbara Ann Zimmerly, 82, died on May 17, 2023 at Sunrise Senior Living, Findlay, from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. She was born on November 16, 1940 in Wapakoneta,Ohio to Helen (Wisener) and Kermit Katterheinrich.  She married Denver (Junior) Zimmerly on April 2, 1960. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his death on November 29, 2020. Also preceding her in death were her parents, sister: Nancy Harrod, brother; James Katterheinrich and brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Larry and Shirley Zimmerly. 

She is survived by two daughters; Amber (Tom) Leiner, McComb, Ohio and Lisa (Tim) Ervin, Findlay, Ohio; three grandchildren; Tyler (Jennifer) Leiner, Findlay, Alex (Shelby) Ervin, Indianapolis, IN, and Tessa Ervin, Cincinnati, Ohio.  She is also survived by three great granddaughters; Aliza and Isla Leiner and Lily Ervin. 

Also surviving are three brother-in-laws; Robert (Ann) Badertscher, Owen (Kay) Ziessler, Bluffton Ohio, and Mahlon Harrod, Harbor Springs, MI.

After graduating from Bluffton High School in 1958, she worked at Triplett Corp. and Ohio Oil Co.  She worked for 20 years for the Hancock County Treasurer's Office in Findlay. She was Chief Deputy Treasurer for 12 years. 

She enjoyed planting and arranging flowers, crafting, and knitting.  She also enjoyed traveling to the western United States each year with many good friends.  She loved all candy, pies, cookies and cakes. She never met a sweet she didn’t enjoy!

A private graveside service will be held. Interment will be at Clymer Cemetery, Mt. Cory, Ohio.  Kirkpatrick Behnke will assist with services.
