Gwendolyn Lee Lemmon was a teacher
Gwendolyn Lee Lemmon, 84, formerly of Delaware, Ohio, passed away May 30, 2023, at Willow Ridge - Betty House.
Gwendolyn was born July 19, 1938 in Buffalo, NY, to Harry and Ruth (Newell) Berrisford, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of East High School in Columbus, Ohio. She later went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in teaching from The Ohio State University. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Delaware, Ohio and was involved in the Bluffton Senior Center. She taught at a number of different school districts, teaching elementary school and preschool. She enjoyed sewing, reading and volunteering.
She is survived by her seven children, Michael (Gina) Zimmerman of Omaha, Nebraska, Jennifer (Scott) Little of Bluffton, Bill (Susan) Zimmerman of Delaware, OH, John (Kelly) Zimmerman of Fayetteville, TN, Betsy (Eric) Pridemore of Fishers, IN, Hillary (James Day) Lemmon of Flowood, MS, and Christopher (Sadie) Lemmon of Wichita Falls, TX; ten grandchildren, Katelyn (William) Cochran, Nathan (Becca) Little, Ian Zimmerman, Charlie Zimmerman, Maddie Pridemore, Mary Beth Zimmerman, Aubrey Pridemore, Samuel Pridemore, Stewart Grey Zimmerman, and Piper Lemmon; a great-grandson, Liam Cochran; two siblings, Helen Berrisford and Robert Berrisford; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Berrisford.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Roy and Eleanor Hoey, and her twin-brother, William Berrisford.
Services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton with William Herr to officiate the service. Visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2023, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio.
