PHOTOS Ebenezer Mennonite Church Trunk or Treat
The cold rain on October 29 did not prevent a crowd of costumed kids from descending on the nearly 20 Trunk or Treat stops that were prepared by the congregation of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Columbus Grove Rd., Bluffton.
The trunks ranged from the Fruit of the Spirit decorated with balloons, to a Christmas themed trunk manned by the youth group, to a giant Cookie Monster. (Continues)
There was popcorn and hot chocolate to warm up participants after they finished and a raffle with prizes for the whole family.
Organizers explain that “The purpose of the community event was to provide a safe and fun experience for the kids and to further develop the outreach of the church. There were lots of smiles and laughter as the adults and kids interacted at each of the trunks.”
Hanné Streicher, the Director of Children and Family Ministries, says she is “still astonished at the amazing creativity our church family had while putting together their trunks. It was such an encouragement to see people hang around and chat even after their kids went to each of the trunks. I would like to thank all the parents who brought their kids out in the chilly weather and for all the volunteers who gave of their time to make this evening a success.”
