Allen Co Sheriff's office investigating fatal shooting at Slabtown Rd.
UPDATE: The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting was likely unintentional; the victim was identified in the Lima News as Grant Siefker.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau is investigating the following incident: On Sunday January 7, 2024 at 2:57 a.m., the Allen County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a shooting at a residence in the 11000 block of Slabtown Rd.
Upon the arrival Putnam County EMS was already on scene, attempting lifesaving measures on a 15-year-old male victim. He was transported to Mercy Health in Lima, Ohio, where he succumbed to his injury.
Another 15-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene. He is currently being held at the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center. The suspect and victim were family members and actions that led to the shooting are still being investigated.
