John R. Skelly graduated from Bluffton High School

John R. Skelly, 75, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. John was born January 30, 1949, a son to the late John B. and Dorothy D. (Cox) Skelly. He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta (Bobbi) A. (Swartz) Skelly, whom he married January 3, 1981.
John was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Northwestern School of Commerce, Cleveland State University, and Findlay College (University of Findlay). He retired from Ohio Power/AEP Ohio. John was a member of Mt. Cory Lodge 418 F & AM, LaGrange Chapter 68 Royal Arch Masons, Ohio Council 92 Royal & Select Masons, St. George Commandery No. 76 Knight Templar, El Hasa Shrine Temple, Ironton Elks Lodge 177, Past Exulted Ruler, and Ironton Moose Lodge 701.
In addition to his wife, Bobbi, those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Dr. Teresa Ann (Matthew) Kuehne, grandchildren, Anna, Sara, and Ella Kuehne, also a nephew, Heath (Nichole) Mikesell and niece, Heather (Jason) Rutan.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 pm until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518, South 6th Street, Ironton, Ohio and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. John’s service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, 239 S. Main Street, Bluffton, OH 45817 with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. Masonic service will be provided by Mt. Cory Lodge 418 F &AM. Burial will follow in Lima Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest next to his parents.
