Gertrude "Trudy" Baber worked for Triplett Corporation
Gertrude "Trudy" Baber, 102, passed away June 6, 2024, at the Mennonite Memorial Home.
Gertrude was born March 30, 1922 in Allen County, to Roy and Margurite (Gunther) Laws who preceded her in death. On June 12, 1941 she married Samuel Baber who preceded her in death on August 29, 1997.
Trudy graduated from Lima South High School and retired from Triplett Corporation in Bluffton. She was a member of the First Missionary Church in Bluffton and the Bluffton Senior Citizens. She also was active at Ebenezer Mennonite Church of Bluffton. Trudy enjoyed volunteering her time at Bluffton Hospital, the Et Cetera Shop and the Hilty Memorial Home.

She is survived by her children, S. Charles Baber of Richardson, TX and Linda (George) Zwinski of Brethren, MI; two grandchildren, John (Robin) Zwinski of Apex, NC and Ken Zwinski of Findlay; two great-granddaughters, Allyson (Matthew Kramer) Zwinski of Hoboken, NJ and Sydney (Aaron Brown) Zwinski of Indianapolis, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Trudy was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Laws and Lenore Parlette.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church with Pastor Gary Marks to officiate the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Missionary Church of Bluffton or Gideon's International.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services of Bluffton.
