The Bluffton Police Department provided the following docket of calls and responses for June 2024
POLICE DOCKET – JUNE 2024
June 2
Officers responded to the 100 block of Garmatter Street for a criminal damage complaint.
June 3
Officers arrested a Lima resident for driving without a valid driver’s license following a traffic stop in the area of Snider Road near Main Street for a speeding violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of South Main Street for a complaint of a subject passing bad checks.
June 4
Officers responded to the 100 block of North Jackson Street in reference to a theft complaint.

June 5
Officers responded to the storage units on East College Avenue for the theft of a motor vehicle and a trailer.
June 6
Officers received a complaint of a theft from a rural Bluffton resident.
June 17
Officers received a theft complaint from a rural Bluffton resident.
June 18
Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of Vance Street in reference to a shoplifting complaint.
June 21
Officers responded to the area of College Avenue near Mound Street in reference to a crash that occurred on College Avenue near Main Street. The suspect fled the scene after the crash and the other vehicle followed the suspect until officers arrived. Officers spoke with both parties and ultimately determined the at-fault driver was impaired. The Bluffton resident was subsequently arrested for suspicion of OVI and the case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Officers took a report of criminal damage from a resident in the 200 block of South Mound Street.
June 22
Officers assisted the Allen County Sheriff’s Office in the 10200 block of Columbus Grove Bluffton Road for a criminal damage complaint. The homeowner alleged the mailbox has been destroyed sometime during the overnight hours. It was later determined the mailbox had been struck by a rural Bluffton resident who was intoxicated the night before. That investigation is being conducted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
June 24
Officers received a theft complaint from a construction site supervisor in the 200 block of Cherry Street. The complainant advised sometime during the overnight hours, a dump trailer was stolen from the job site.
June 26
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident from driving without a valid driver’s license following a traffic stop in the area of County Line Road near Jefferson Street for a registration violation. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
Officers arrested a Lima resident for driving without a valid driver’s license following a traffic stop in the area of Snider Road near North Main Street for a speeding violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 28
Officers responded to the area of Jackson Street near Vine Street for a report of a mentally ill person. The subject was transported by a Bluffton officer to St. Rita’s Medical Center for a psychological evaluation.
