Pirates sweep Raiders; win streak reaches 8

HAVILAND __ The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team defeated Wayne Trace in straight sets to post a non-league win Monday evening, September 10.
The Pirates swept the Raiders 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.
The road victory improved the Pirate record to 9-1 this season. Bluffton has won eight consecutive matches since a loss to Shawnee August 19.
WT dropped to 4-4 after the defeat.
Kendall Stackhouse knocked down 11 kills to pace the Pirate hitting attack.
Libby Hocanson hammered eight kills. Ayla Grandey and Karlie Lora each hit for seven kills. Lora added two blocks and one ace.
Setter Gracie Yarnell passed out 25 assists and mustered nine digs. Vanessa Cross added seven digs.
Avery Talavinia led the team with 14 digs and three aces. Faith Combs and Stackhouse added one block apiece.
Bluffton also swept the JV match 2-0.
The Pirates host local league rival Allen East (2-5, 0-0 NWC) Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the Northwest Conference opener.
