Medicare Open Enrollment virtual town hall on Oct. 1
10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, register at www.insurance.ohio.gov/
Ohio Department of Insurance Director Judith L. French and Medicare experts from the department’s Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) are hosting a free, virtual town hall on Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. to help Ohioans prepare for the upcoming Medicare open enrollment period and officially launch OSHIIP's annual statewide Medicare Checkup events.
Participants during the town hall will learn about Medicare changes for 2025, how to compare options and select coverage, including for prescription drug plans, ways to save money, and tips to avoid Medicare fraud during open enrollment, which runs Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. Visit www.insurance.ohio.gov/ to register for the town hall.
OSHIIP is offering virtual and in-person Medicare Checkup events. Before Oct. 15, the focus is on educational presentations, while after the enrollment period starts, personalized plan comparisons and one-on-one counseling will be available. With annual changes in plans, it is essential for Ohioans to review benefits, costs, and coverage details. Medicare’s 2025 plan information will be available on Oct. 1 at medicare.gov.
Ohioans can find the Medicare Checkup events schedule, search by county, and register for events at insurance.ohio.gov. For personalized OSHIIP assistance, Ohioans can schedule virtual appointments, email [email protected], and call 800-686-1578.
