Pirate volleyballs defeats Patrick Henry

BLUFFTON __ The Bluffton High School volleyball team swept visiting non-conference rival Patrick Henry on Monday night, September 30.
The Pirates won for the 14th time in 16 matches.
The Pirate girls improved to 15-3 overall after the 25-17, 25-13, 25-20 win. PH fell to 8-9 overall with the loss.
Ayla Grandey topped the Pirates with 11 kills.
Kendall Stackhouse knocked down 10 kills, Libby Hocanson smacked nine kills and Karlie Lora added seven for the balanced Bluffton attack.
Lora came up with nine digs, and Hocanson authored two blocks.
Setter Gracie Yarnell dished out 38 assists. Libero Avery Talavinia mustered 17 digs, and Vanessa Cross served three aces.
The Pirates also swept the freshman and JV matches, 2-0.
Bluffton resumes league play in a key match at Lincolnview (12-4, 3-1 NWC) Tuesday, October 1.
The Pirates are tied with Lincolnview in league play for second place at 3-1.
First-place Crestview is 14-4 overall and 6-0 in the NWC.
The Pirates host Spencerville (4-11, 1-3 NWC) Thursday, October 3.
