W. Coleen Marquart worked for Western Southern Life Insurance
W. Coleen Marquart, age 91, passed away on October 11, 2024 at her residence.
Coleen was born in Findlay, Ohio on November 7, 1932 to the late Sylvester and Florence (Leatherman) Dangler.
Coleen had multiple careers in her lifetime. Working with her husband, Ivan, they manufactured RVs under the Marvella and Revella names. She managed the Scot’s Inn restaurant in Lima for several years. Coleen retired from a very successful career with Western Southern Life Insurance Company where she won numerous awards and formed many enduring friendships.
Travel was one of Coleen’s passions in life. She visited every U.S. State and 16 countries, including Italy, England, Belgium, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Monaco, Lichtenstein, Luxemburg, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and her favorite, Switzerland.
She was a fantastic cook who made certain her friends and family always had all they could eat and more.
Coleen lived in the same house for more than 50 years and felt blessed to have always had so many wonderful and supportive neighbors.
Coleen also loved her garden and watching the many birds she always kept well fed.
Coleen was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Marquart having shared 58 years of marriage and by her grandson Justin Marquart; and three siblings, Catherine Lause, Ivan Dangler and Lola Leiber.
She is survived by her daughter Beverly Marquart of Belle Center, Ohio; her son Steven (Darlene) Marquart of Oriental, North Carolina; her granddaughter McKenna (Cameron) Williams of Raleigh, North Carolina; sisters, Linda Whitehouse of Rittman, Ohio, Ruth Thompson of Benton Ridge, Ohio and a brother Danny (Evelyn) Dangler of Bluffton.
Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2024 in Tawa Cemetery, Rawson with Pastor Mike Porter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N Main St, Chamberlain, SD 57325.
