Robert Taylor worked at Vetter Lumber
Robert "Bob" D. Taylor Sr., 63, passed away October 15, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System. Bob was born April 25, 1961 in Medina, Ohio to William and Joyce (Bassitt) Taylor who preceded him in death and was raised by his mother and William "Bill" McClain. He had been previously married to Pam Taylor.
Bob graduated from Bluffton High School and worked at Vetter Lumber in Bluffton for many years where he was a delivery truck driver. He loved his Mustang and listening to music but most of all he enjoyed his family. Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor and his "redneck" ingenuity.
Survivors include his father, William "Bill" (Julia) McClain of Beaverdam; two children, Robert (Chasity) Taylor, Jr. of Bluffton, Lindsey (Lucas) Babcock of Beaverdam; six grandchildren, Austin Lawrence, Alexis Lawrence-Taylor, Robby Taylor III, Damien Amsler, Jaxson Babcock, Dominic Babcock; three brothers, William "Billy" McClain of Beaverdam, Will (Theresa) Taylor of Ada, Randy (Angie) McClain of Bluffton, Indiana and a sister, Lorie (Jeff) Bauermeister of Bluffton, Indiana.
Bob's services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful and caring staff of Lima Memorial Health System, the OSU Ross Heart Center and Springview Manor.
