Manford ‘Manny’ E. Robinson, Jr. was an entrepreneur
Manford ‘Manny’ E. Robinson, Jr., 96, of Granger, IN and formerly of Bluffton, Ohio passed away on October 19, 2024 at Village of Arbor Wood in Granger. He was born in Marshall, IL to the late Manford E. and Sadie Jane (Darkis) Robinson. He attended school at Terre Haute, Indiana. Went from Terre Haute, Indiana to South Bend, Indiana. In Jan. 1949 he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He married Alice Hittle on October 2, 1949.
They had three children, Kay Larson-Shaffer of Saline, MI, Thomas E. (RuthAnn) Robinson of Saline and Beth A. Boehr of Bluffton, OH. Alice preceded him in death. He then married Patsy (Schreve) of South Bend, Indiana who had three children, Linda (Hal) Ort, Chris (Helen) Schreve, and Jack (Patty) Schreve. Patsy preceded him in death in 2012. On June 15, 2013 he married Betty Randt and she survives. Betty’s children are John (Sherri) Deck, Roseburg, OR, LuAnn (Dale) Klein, Crossville, TN and Patti (Sidney) Ottman, Granger, IN. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren complete the family circle.
Manny moved to Granger in 2021 moving from Bluffton. He was an entrepreneur all his life. He was self-employed; he sold and repaired lawn mowers, vending machines, household appliances, and implement trailers besides many other ventures.
Manny loved the ministry of the Gideons International and was actively involved with the Gideons. His love for the Lord was apparent as he faithfully passed out hundreds of Gideon Bibles to those he came in contact with. One of his hobbies was being a jack of all trades. He was a skilled carpenter but could do most anything.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 4-5:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home, Guisinger Chapel 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN.
Graveside services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery, 8905 Columbus Grove-Bluffton Road, Bluffton, OH 45817. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton with brief comments starting at 2:00 p.m. then burial to follow in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery.
