Pirate girls basketball lose at Ottoville

OTTOVILLE __The Bluffton High School girls basketball team lost 64-29 at Ottoville in a non-league contest Saturday afternoon, December 7.

Bluffton fell to 3-2 with the lopsided loss in their first road game of the season.
Ottoville improved to 5-1 after the decisive win.
The Pirates fell behind 17-4 after the opening period and never got back in the game. The Big Green extended its lead to a commanding 37-15 at halftime.
A 20-7 Ottoville third period put the game well out of reach heading to the final quarter, 57-22.
Freshman guard Maelee Miller led Bluffton with 12 points.
Junior Blair Utendorf and Macy Schaadt each scored five points.
Brooklyn Koester led Ottoville with 22 points. Teammate Erica Thorbahn added 14 markers.
The Pirates connected on 10 deuces and one triple. They canned six of 10 tries from the charity stripe (60 percent).
Ottoville sank 16 two-pointers, canned eight treys and converted eight of 15 free throws (53 percent).
The Pirates open Northwest Conference play at Delphos Jefferson (2-2, 0-1 NWC) Thursday, Dec. 12.
