Carl D. Wagner was a farmer
Carl D. Wagner, 90, passed away January 9, 2025 at Serenity Springs Senior Living in Arlington. Carl was born April 27, 1934 in Orange Township to the late Louis and Helen (Nusbaum) Wagner. On May 18, 1952 he married Mary Gudakunst Wagner who preceded him in death on December 18, 2023 after seventy-one years of marriage.
Carl attended Ada High School and was a life-long farmer. He was very proud of being a canned milk hauler in the 1950s, had been a carpenter at Reichenbach Lumber and was a bus driver for Cardinal Bus Sales. Carl was a member of Riley Creek Baptist Church, Bluffton and enjoyed collecting John Deere toy tractors and loved watching football.
Survivors include four children, David Wagner of Ada, Cindy Parkins of Bluffton, Tom (Cynthia) Wagner of Bluffton, Karla (Dennis) Burkholder of Bluffton; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Katie) Parkins, Brandon (Taryn) Parkins, Dr. Amanda Wagner, Andrew (Nicole) Wagner, Kyle (Paige) Wagner, Chad (Anna) Burkholder, Craig (Danie) Burkholder, Curt Burkholder and ten great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Susan Wagner and four siblings, Bob Wagner, Billy Wagner, Betty Wagner and Judy Delong.
Carl's services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday January 14, 2025 at Riley Creek Baptist Church, Bluffton with Pastor David Lanquist officiating. Burial will be in Hasson Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Monday, January 13, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, City Mission of Findlay or the Alzheimer's Association.
