Nominations being accepted for Jefferson Awards

The 2025 Jefferson Awards Banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 25th at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center, 7 Town Square, Lima, Ohio beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The local Jefferson Awards is accepting nominations from a 6-county area including Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Hancock, Putnam and Van Wert.
The national program recognizes “unsung heroes” by awarding individuals who give their time and effort on a volunteer basis to improve their communities. The national program, founded in 1972, was brought to Lima in 2001.
Eight adults and four youth will be recognized at the banquet. Each local winner will receive a monetary award for the non-profit of their choice. One winner will be selected to receive the Gold Medal Award.
Nomination forms can be located on-line at www.unitedwaylima.org or picked up at The Lima News, 205 W. Market St., Suite B, Lima, Oh., 45801. Completed nominations can be dropped off at The Lima News or e-mailed to [email protected].
Nominations are due by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18.
Sponsors include Cenovus Lima Refinery, The Lima News, United Way of Greater Lima, Hometown Stations, Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center and Milano Café.
