Holy Week services at Trinity Lutheran
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, has announced Holy Thursday, Good Friday and two Easter day services.
The Holy Thursday service takes place at 7:00 p.m. on April 17. The theme is "Renewed by the Gospel." The Bible readings are Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 10:15-25; Luke 22:7-20, and Psalm 51:10-13. The Chori will sing "Eat this Bread" and the hymns are: "Renew Me, O Eternal LIght; It was a Dark and Dismal Night; Create in Me a Clean Heart; Lord Jesus Christ, You Have Prepared; The Death of Jesus Christ, Our Lord; and O Lord, We Praise You."
The Good Friday Service on April 18 also begins at 7:00 p.m. The theme is "Restored By His Sacrifice" and the Bible readings are: Isaiah 53; Galatians 3:10-13, John 19:17-30, and Psalm 51:14-17. A small choir will sing "Jesus Is" and hymns are: "Jesus, I Will Ponder Now; O Dearest Jesus, What Law Have You Broken; Jesus, Grant That Balm and Healing; Upon the Cross Extended; and Chief of Sinners Though I Be."
The Easter Sunrise service begins at 6:30 a.m. and the Easter Day service begins at 9:30 a.m. on April 20. The Choir will sing "I Will Rise." The Bible readings are: Exodus 15:1-11, Colossians 3:1-4, and John 20:1-18.
The theme is: "Because He Lives- We Rejoice in the Resurrection Hope."
The hymns are "Jesus Christ is Risen Today!; Awake, My Heart with Gladness; I Know that My Redeemer Lives; Alleluia! Jesus Lives; Welcome, Happy Morning; and He's Risen, He's Risen." The Easter Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m.
