Pirate baseball win vs. Genoa Area Comets

GENOA – The visiting Bluffton High School baseball team defeated Genoa Area 4-3 in a non-league battle Saturday, April 12.
The Pirates improved to 3-4 with the victory, while Genoa Area fell to 0-2 after the loss.
The Comets out-hit the Pirates 10-6, but made two errors compared to one miscue by Bluffton.

Pirate senior Quinn Eachus pitched all seven innings to earn the win. He scattered 10 hits and allowed three earned runs. Eachus walked two and struck out a pair.
Freshman Jake Weaver led the Pirate offense with two doubles.
Nathan Speicher singled and scored a run. Blayne Hill, Evan Speicher and William Hoover each hit a single.
Robby Taylor, Luke Jebsen and Dylan Painter scored a run apiece.
Bluffton plated two runs in the third to take an early lead. GA answered with all three of its runs in the bottom of the third.
The Pirates then regained the lead for good with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth frame.
Bluffton hosts McComb (0-5) April 15.
