Jane M. Shaw was a nurse
Jane M. Shaw, 69, passed away May 10, 2025, at The Ohio State Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital.
Jane was born November 9, 1955 in Bluffton to Dwight and Clarabeth (Diller) Bixel who preceded her in death. On August 9, 1975 she married Steve Shaw who survives.
She was a 1974 graduate of Bluffton High School and graduated with her Bachelors of Nursing from Bluffton College. She worked for many years as a nurse at the Mennonite Memorial Home in home health and nursing, and at the Hilty Home as the director of nursing. She also owned Deere Creek Shops and R Coop Store, selling antiques and collectables.
She enjoyed gardening, scrap booking, antiquing, and visiting garage sales. She was a life-long member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church where she started and ran the Wild Game ministry, taught Sunday school, ran several children's programs, lead funeral meals and many other activities. Jane also enjoyed volunteering her time with the Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary, where she was the volunteer coordinator for many years. She adored spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her husband, Steve Shaw of Bluffton; son, John (Jaime) Shaw of Bluffton; two grandchildren, Taryn and Tyler Shaw of Bluffton; and two siblings, Seth (Carol) Bixel of Bluffton and Amy Bixel of Covington, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, May 19, 2025, 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. A private service will be held along with a burial in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Mennonite Church: Youth Fund or Youth for Christ Northwest Ohio.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton.
