Ruth Marie Thompson was a homemaker
Ruth Marie Thompson, 89, of Rawson, passed away on May 29, 2025 at her daughter’s residence in West Salem, Ohio. She was born to the late Sylvester and Florence (Leatherman) Dangler. On July 3, 1953, she married Melvin Marquart and he passed away. She later married Alfred Thompson on December 13, 1966 and he also preceded her in death.
Ruth was a homemaker most of her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth loved taking care of the flowers in her yard and will be missed by many.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Patrick) Reis of Rawson, Julie Nale of West Salem; three great-grandchildren, Dakota Hoert of West Salem, Cheyenne Hoert of Sandusky, Savannah (Gus) Boyd of Orrville; four great-great grandchildren, Kylie Hoert, Preston Hoert, Anastasia Hoert and Aria Boyd; a sister Linda Whitehouse and a brother Dan (Evelyn) Dangler.
Ruth was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Bejeck; twin siblings, Betty Lou and Bobby; three sisters, Cathy Lause, Colleen Marquart, Lola Leiber and a brother, Ivan Dangler.
A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Tawa Cemetery, Rawson with Chaplain David Matos officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
