Travel opportunities update from Bluffton Senior Center
BLUFFTON SENIOR CENTER NEWS — The Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. is signing up members for the following Coach Trips with Tonya and Bus Trips with Debbie. Trip activity levels are explained below.
AROUND LAKE ONTARIO July 9-16, 2025
Please bring your ID with you. Brochures available at the Senior Center. This trip is a level 2.
GRAND CANYON & RED ROCKS September 7-16, 2025
This trip is full. Brochures available at the Senior Center. This trip is a level 2.
WINTER IN YELLOWSTONE January 19-25, 2026
Explore the sparkle of our Nation's First National Park. The wonders of Yellowstone have never felt so close. Under feet of snow, the roads remain off-limits to private vehicles, allowing for a uniquely intimate experience with nature from the warmth of your heated snow coach. The animals of Yellowstone are much easier to see in the winter. The average temperature in January is 24 degrees. But the coaches are nice and warm. Price starts at $3,897. Brochures available in the office. Cost includes airfare, 12 meals and all gratuities. This trip is a level 2.
BUS TRIPS WITH DEBBIE
Factory Tour, July 23
Last day to sign up is July 7. We will tour the Air Stream Plant, have a pizza lunch and visit Bellefontaine and a history museum in the afternoon. Closed toe shoes required. Cost is $80, due at sign up. Trip departs at 9 a.m. Level 4
Matilda at LaComedia, July 31
Last day to sign up is June 20! Based on the book by Roald Dahl, Matilda is a brilliant girl who fights against her cruel parents and school. With her positive attitude and some fun songs, Matilda makes her own happy ending. A great buffet lunch is included. Cost is $106 and is due at sign up. Trip departs at 9 a.m. Level 1.
Westcott House August 21
Visit Frank Lloyd Wright's house, Westcott House in Springfield, OH. Frank Lloyd Wright was a visionary architect who impacted modern architecture. Westcott House is in the Prairie Style and was built in 1908. It is the only Prairie Style house by Wright in Ohio. The trip includes lunch. Trip departs at 8:45 a.m. Cost is $104 and is due at the time of sign up. Trip is a level 3 as places to sit are very limited on house tours.
The Play That Goes Wrong at LaComedia, September 11
Enjoy a lovely buffet lunch followed but a hilarious play. A play within a play. Welcome to opening night of Cornley University Drama Society's production of The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. With an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can't play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines), this hilarious show within a show is Broadway's funniest smash hit! Cost is $106 and is due at sign up. Trip departs at 9 a.m. Level 1.
*NEW* Outdoor Mystery Trip Thursday, October 2
Join us for an outdoor adventure with lunch included. We will depart at 7:15 a.m. Trip is a level 2. First day to sign up is July 10.
*NEW* Road to Damascus Wednesday, October 29
We will have a day of entertainment, food and fun at the Ohio Star Theater. Road to Damascus performance is in connection with Sight & Sound Theater. Lunch is included. Trip departs at 8:15 a.m. Cost is $132.00 due at sign up. First day to sign up is July 10.

If you want a copy of the Trip Policy, stop by the office and pick one up. We will no longer be able to take credit cards for any trip because of the rising credit card fees. This means that we will no longer be able to take reservations over the phone. All trips must be signed up in person or a check may be sent in the mail.
TRIP ACTIVITY LEVELS
The following is an explanation of the levels assigned to the trips.
LEVEL 1 Minimal walking through parking lots and drop off locations. Standing while waiting in line and for entrance to tours. Will include steps and uneven surfaces throughout the day and steps in and out of motor coach.
LEVEL 2 Moderate walking/standing, up to half a mile, may include stairs and /or uneven terrain. Plus, on and off motor coach more than once.
LEVEL 3 Lots of walking/standing for multiple hours. May include flights of stairs and /or uneven terrain. Could include long days.
LEVEL 4 Extensive walking/standing, climbing stairs or hilly walkways and /or extended weather exposure.
