Bluffton swimmers sweep Shawnee, Ada

BLUFFTON__ The Bluffton Sardines summer swim team hosted and won a West Ohio Aquatic League triangular meet with Ada and Shawnee on Monday evening, June 30.
The host Sardines won the boys meet decisively. They dunked Shawnee 382-96 and drowned the Ada boys, 328-151. The Gator males beat Shawnee, 243.5 to 144.5.
The Bluffton girls defeated Shawnee Tides, 293-211. Shawnee then beat the Ada females, 312-115.5. The Sardine girls hammered the Gator girls, 418-85.
Bluffton also won the combined girls/boys meets by scores of 675-307 over Shawnee, and 746-236 versus the Gators. Ada lost the boys/girls meet to Shawnee, 456.5 to 358.5.
Sardine Beau Sutton touched first in four individual races in the girls 9-10 age bracket to pace the victors.
Bluffton’s Jackson Bowlus won three races in the boys 15-and-over age class.
Several Sardines won two events. Liam Rapp (boys 7-8), Madelyn Agner (girls 11-12), Levi Klass (boys 7-8) and Brayden Hull (boys six and under) each triumphed in two events.
Bluffton also captured first in 14 of the 20 relay events, while Shawnee won six.
The Sardines compete in the annual eight-team WOAL championship meet at Wapakoneta July 11-12.
