Jeffrey A. Hunt taught and coached at area schools
Jeffrey A. Hunt, age 67, of Loudonville, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at his home. Jeffrey died peacefully in his sleep when the Lord came to him and said, “Well done my good faithful servant.”
He was born on October 29, 1957 in Lima, Ohio to Harry and Susan (Hullinger) Hunt. His father Harry preceded him in death and his mother Susan survives in Ashland. On September 13, 1980 Jeffrey married the love of his life, Julie K. Basinger, and she survives in Loudonville.
Also surviving are his two children: Zachary (Jennifer) Hunt of Waynesboro, VA and Ashley (Michael) Bowles of Jeromesville; three grandchildren: Dawson, Jase and Savy; father and mother-in-law: Fred and Jan Basinger; and brother-in-law, Gerald Lehman.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Lehman.
Jeffrey taught and coached at area schools including: Lima Temple Christian, Hardin Northern, Ada and Wooster Christian Schools. He was a member of the Park Street Brethren Church, Ashland and formerly attended Crossroad Church of God, Lima. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Las Vegas Raiders fan. Jeffrey loved his family and adored his grandkids and their activities.
A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Crossroads Church of God, 775 Thayer Road, Lima, Ohio 45806 with Pastor Damien Tibbs officiating.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1 at the Crossroads Church of God, 775 Thayer Road, Lima.
Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Christian School Athletic Department, 750 Brower Road, Lima, Ohio 45801, make checks payable to Temple Christian School.
