Pirate boys golf opens at Colonial Invite

HARROD__The Bluffton boys golf team teed off its season by finishing 15th at the 21-team Colonial Golfers Club Invitational Tuesday, August 5 in Harrod.
Perrysburg won the event with 299 strokes, 18 shots ahead of their closest competition.
Mansfield Madison and Shawnee tied for second at 317, while Allen East came home right behind them by one stroke in fourth (318).
The Pirate linksters totaled 365 strokes, one behind Crestview and five shots ahead of LCC (370). Otsego (375), Van Buren (385), Calvary Christian (395), Temple Christian (409) and Delphos Jefferson (420) brought up the rear behind Bluffton.
Sam Korczynski of Perrysburg won tournament medalist honors by firing a round of 66.
Allen East’s Levi Clum set a school 18-hole record and tied for second overall by carding a 68. Mustang teammate Brady Brooks finished seventh with a round of 74.
Nick Lovett shot an 83 to lead the Pirates, followed by Grady Coonfare with 96, Ethan Fifer with 91, Coby Daily with 95, Gibson Meyer with 98 and Owen Brauen with 100.
