Pirate volleyball loss in opener vs. Kalida

KALIDA – The Bluffton High School volleyball team lost its season opener at Kalida in four sets Saturday, August 16.
After winning the first game 25-21, the Pirate girls dropped the final three sets 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.
Bluffton starts out 0-1.
Kendall Stackhouse led the Pirate girls with 10 kills and two blocks. Karlie Lora knocked down eight kills and made two blocks. Lainey Grandey added seven kills.
Adelyn Althaus dished out 16 assists, while Camryn Fruchey passed out 14 helpers. Althaus served up four aces, and Stackhouse fired three aces.
Vanessa Cross hustled up 15 digs, and Gracie Warren mustered up eight digs.
Bluffton plays at Shawnee Monday, Aug. 18. The Pirate home opener is Wednesday, Aug. 20 vs. Pandora-Gilboa.
