Pirate girls soccer shut out by Wapak
Bluffton hosts Spencerville on August 26

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 4-0 to visiting power Wapakoneta in a non-league match to open the season at Steinmetz Field on Tuesday, August 19.
The Pirate girls start out 0-1, while Wapak improved to 2-0 with the victory.
Wapakoneta scored in the 18th and 21st minutes to seize a 2-0 lead at intermission. The Redskin girls tacked on goals in the 42nd and 53rd minutes to put the game out of reach.
The first goal was scored by Redskin senior Paige Olberding unassisted. The second score was tallied by Aubrey Prenger off a corner kick by Emory Preston.

Soph Avery Sheipline scored on a rebound shot with 37:44 left unassisted off a keeper deflection.
Sophomore Olivia Hudnall found the back of the net off a direct kick from Emory Preston tallied 11 minutes later. The score also came off a deflection by the Pirate keeper.
Bluffton put five of its six shots on goal. Nine of the 16 Wapakoneta shots were on target.
Each team came up with five saves in goal.
Bluffton hosts Spencerville in the Northwest Conference opener on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
