Pirate VB sweeps Rockets
Bluffton hosts Miller City (2-0) in a non-league play, Saturday, Aug. 23.

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton High School volleyball team earned its first win of the season with a sweep of visiting non-league local rival Pandora-Gilboa on Wednesday, August 20.
The Pirate girls beat the Rockets 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.
Bluffton improved to 1-2 with the home victory. P-G fell to 1-1 after
the defeat.
Kendall Stackhouse led the Pirate girls in kills for the third match in a row with 10. Camryn Fruchey contributed six kills, and Lainey Grandey added five kills.
Adelyn Althaus passed out 11 assists, while Fruchey also dished out 11 helpers.
Vanessa Cross mustered 19 digs, while Fruchey came up with seven digs. Gracie Warren contributed six digs.
Fruchey added five aces and four blocks to her versatile effort. Cross served up three aces, while Ashley McLaughlin dealt a pair of aces. Karlie Lora came up with five blocks, and Lainey Grandey added two
blocks.
The Pirate junior varsity and the Bluffton freshman each won 2-0, making it a triple sweep for the hosts.
