Pirate volleyball loss to Miller City
Pirates host Elida (1-1) on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

BLUFFTON __The Bluffton High School volleyball team lost a four-setter to visiting non-league foe Miller City on Saturday, August 23.
The Pirate girls evened the match with a second set win, but dropped the last two games to the Wildcats.
Bluffton fell to 1-3 with the 25-21, 21-25, 25-13, 25-15 home defeat. Unbeaten MC improved to 4-0 after the win.
- Libby Hocanson topped the Pirate girls with 10 kills.
- Kendall Stackhouse connected on eight kills, and Lainey Grandey added six kills.
- Camryn Fruchey dished out a team-high 19 assists and came up with nine digs.
- Adelyn Althaus passed out 11 assists.
- Vanessa Cross mustered 18 digs.
- Karlie Lora hustled up 13 digs, served up four aces and came up with four blocks.
- Stackhouse added two aces.
- Hocanson made a pair of blocks.
The Pirate junior varsity lost 2-1, and the Bluffton freshman team fell 2-0.
