Active shooter training to be held at Apollo Career Center
SEPT 4 MEDIA RELEASE__The Shawnee Township Police, in partnership with Apollo Career Center and Allen County EMA, will conduct a multi-agency, full-scale active shooter training drill on Sunday, September 7, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. The high school is not in session.
The training exercise will focus on emergency response to an active shooter incident on campus and is being staged by Shawnee Township in collaboration with local emergency responders. It will involve a simulation of the law enforcement response plan to an active shooter. It will help assure a coordinated, timely, and effective response and recovery in the event of a major incident.
There will be significant law enforcement on campus during the exercise. In order to avoid any confusion, the public is being notified ahead of time. The exercise is closed to the general public and media.
