Pirate volleyball loss at Liberty-Benton

FINDLAY__The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost a non-league match to Liberty-Benton 4-1 on Wednesday, September 3.
The Pirate girls fell to 2-3 with the defeat, while the Eagles improved to 3-2-1 after the win.
Bluffton ace Aubrey Burkholder netted the lone Pirate goal in the 74th minute to avoid the shutout.
Liberty-Benton jumped in front early as Ally Ferris found the back of the net in the second minute. Isabelle Miller tallied in the 11th minute to go ahead 2-0.
Eagle Emma Lieb made it 3-0 with a goal in the 23rd minute, and it stayed that way to intermission.
After 44 scoreless minutes Miller tallied her second goal in the 68th minute to extend the lead to 4-0.
Bluffton fired five of its eight shots on goal. Nine of the 11 L-B shots were on target. Pirate keeper Kynzie Ewing made five saves, while the Liberty-Benton keeper was credited with four stops.
Bluffton hosts Bath (3-0-1) Thursday and visits Bowling Green Saturday to conclude a stretch of four matches in five days.
