John "Bill" W. McVetta was a farmer
John "Bill" W. McVetta, 85, passed away September 6, 2025 at his residence in Mt. Cory. Bill was born May 7, 1940 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late John and Lois June (Nonnamaker) McVetta. He married Rita K. Ranking on June 4, 1966, and they enjoyed fifty-two happy years together prior to her passing on March 2, 2019.
Bill was a 1958 graduate of Cory-Rawson High School and was a farmer for over 40 years. He was a little on the wild side and had many hobbies including playing pool, golfing and racing pigeons. His favorite hobby was hunting arrow heads and Indian relics for 65 years. Bill and his wife, Rita attended the Mt. Cory Church of Faith.
Survivors include three sons, Nick (Nola) McVetta of Findlay, Bryan McVetta of Mt. Cory, Ryan McVetta of Mount Cory; two great-grandchildren, Masen Breyman and Emmalese McVetta and a brother, Robert (Darlene) McVetta of Mt. Cory. Bill was preceded in death by two grandsons, Marcus Moser and Dylan McVetta.
Bill's family would like to thank Bridge Home Health & Hospice for their care of Bill.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
