Pirate girls tennis loss at Elida

ELIDA – The visiting Bluffton High School girls tennis team lost 5-0 to Elida in a dual match on Wednesday, September 10.
The Pirate girls dropped to 3-7 with the dual match defeat. Second-place WBL foe Elida improved to 6-1 after the win.
Pirate senior Hannah Nieman lost a tough battle at first singles after being felled in a first set tiebreaker 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
Senior Claire Blackburn fell 6-0, 6-0 at second singles. Junior Ari Bowling was defeated 6-1, 6-1 at third singles.
Pirate juniors Willow Angle and Kate Klinger lost 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles,
The duo of sophomore Peighton Bowers and freshman Leah Hoffman dropped a tough bout at second doubles 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.
Bluffton plays at Wauseon on Thursday. The Pirates compete in the Ottawa Hills tournament on Saturday.
