Pirate volleyball sweeps DJ, win streak at 7

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School volleyball team swept visiting Delphos Jefferson in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, September 11.
The Pirate girls dominated the Wildcats 25-6, 25-8, 25-19 to capture their seventh consecutive victory.
Bluffton improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the NWC after the home win.
Delphos Jefferson fell to 2-7 overall and 0-1 in NWC play after the defeat.
Kendall Stackhouse led the hitting attack with 18 kills. Karlie Lora added eight kills.
Camryn Fruchey passed out 15 assists, while Adelyn Althaus dished out 13 helpers.
Lainey Grandey served up six aces. Althaus and Fruchey each dealt a pair of aces.
Gracie Warren hustled up 10 digs, and Vanessa Cross mustered nine digs.
Stackhouse, Lora and Libby Hocanson had one block apiece.
The Bluffton JV also swept DJ, 2-0.
The Pirates put their win streak on the line Saturday morning in a rugged non-league tri-match. Bluffton plays at Green Meadows Conference leader Defiance Tinora (8-1), and they will also face tough Ottawa Hills.
