Pirate boys soccer blanks LCC

LIMA__The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team handily defeated Northwest Conference rival Lima Central Catholic 5-0 on Tuesday, September 23.

Ashton Ungashick netted the last three Pirate goals to complete a hat trick.

The Pirates improved to 3-7-3 overall and 2-0 in NWC play after the shutout win.

LCC fell to 2-9-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the NWC with the defeat. 

Bluffton’s Ethan Blount scored in the sixth minute off an assist by Chase Kelly to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.

Pirate Landon Sehlhorst doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 12th minute when he scored from an assist by Brahlen August. 

Ungashick stretched the margin to 3-0 three minutes later with an unassisted goal.   

Kelly got his second assist when he fed Ungashick for a 4-0 lead in the 21st minute. 

The Pirates led 4-0 at the half.

In the 51st minute, Ungashick tallied his third goal unassisted to provide the final margin of victory.

Bluffton hosts Ottawa-Glandorf (1-9-2) in a non-league match on Thursday, Sept. 25.
