Betty Jean Hamilton taught at Bluffton Schools
Betty Jean Hamilton, 89, passed away October 1, 2025 at Willow Ridge - Frieda House in Bluffton. Betty was born June 20, 1936 in Bluffton to the late Walter and Beulah (Slusser) Hamilton.
Betty was a 1954 graduate of Cory-Rawson High School. She then received her bachelor's degree in education from Bluffton College and later her master's degree from Bowling Green State University.
Betty taught school at Findlay City Schools for one year before spending thirty years teaching in the Bluffton School system. She was a member of the Bluffton First Methodist Church. Professionally, she was a member of the Ohio Education Association, the National Education Association, Ohio Retired Teachers and the Hancock County Retired Teachers.
In her spare time, Betty enjoyed traveling, gardening, needle pointing, jigsaw puzzles, embroidery and reading.
Surviving are several extended family members and friends.
Betty’s family would like to extend their appreciation for the wonderful care and compassion of the staff at Willow Ridge and also Bridge Hospice.
Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2025 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton with Pastor Bob Clinger officiating. Burial will be in Cannonsburg Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton First Methodist Church.
