Pirate girls soccer seeded 4th, will host AE in sectionals

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team received a fourth seed in their 12-team super sectional drawing Sunday due in part to playing a rugged non-league schedule.

The Pirate girls soccer team (7-7-1) will host seventh-seeded local foe Allen East (2-10-1) on Tuesday, October 14.  Bluffton defeated the backyard league rival Mustangs 4-0 on Sept. 16 this season.

The winner will face the survivor between fifth seed host Ada (10-3-2) and Kalida (5-8-1) on Monday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. The Bulldog girls shut out the Wildcats 2-0 in Ada on Sept 27.

Bluffton would host the former league rival Bulldogs Oct. 20 at Steinmetz Field if the heavily-favored hosts beat AE, and if Ada defeats Kalida.

The potential Ada/Bluffton victor would advance to the district semifinals on Thursday, Oct. 23 in Clyde at 6 p.m.

Powerful Elmore Woodmore (13-1-1) was voted the top seed in the upper half of the draw.

Miller City (10-3-2) was seeded first in the bottom half of the draw. MC plays Continental (9-3-3) Oct. 14, with the survivor going on to face the Columbus Grove (10-2-2)/LCC (1-9) victor Oct. 20 in Bluffton at 7 p.m.

Grove was seeded second despite losing to Bluffton 2-1 Sept. 30 for the NWC title.
