Pirate girls soccer blanked by O-G

OTTAWA__The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 4-0 to traditional powerhouse Ottawa-Glandorf in a non-league match on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The Pirate girls finished their regular season 8-8-1 overall after suffering the road defeat.
Western Buckeye League champion Ottawa-Glandorf improved to 12-5 after the home shutout win.
Ottawa-Glandorf’s Karsyn Erford started the scoring with a goal in the sixth minute. Titan teammate Delaney Duling netted a goal just two minutes later to build a 2-0 lead.
Emma Heringhaus scored in the 30th minute to give O-G a 3-0 bulge at halftime.
Duling added her second goal in the 64th minute to provide the final margin of four.
Bluffton directed eight of its 12 shots on goal. O-G fired all eight of its shots on target.
Bluffton senior keeper Kynzie Ewing saved four shots in goal. The Titan goalie made five stops in goal.
The Pirates host backyard rival Allen East (2-10-1) in first-round sectional tournament action on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Bluffton defeated backyard rival AE 4-0 earlier this season on Sept. 16.
The Pirate/Mustang winner will face the survivor between fifth-seed host Ada (11-3-2) and Kalida (5-10-1) on Monday, Oct. 20, at 5 p.m.
The Bulldog girls beat Kenton 2-0 on Thursday after a 12-day layoff.
