Obituary for Ann Benner
Ann Benner, age 83, passed away at home on September 27, 2025, with her husband of 64 years by her side. Ann was born in McComb, Ohio, on May 8, 1942, to the late Dale and Pauline (Sheidler) Zeisloft. She is survived by her husband, Robert Benner; children Shari (Chris) Long of Hendersonville, TN; Jason Benner of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren Ava, Jack, Logan Benner; Stella Long; brother Dean (Kay) Zeisloft of Findlay, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Edwin Zeisloft of California.
Ann and Bob were high school sweethearts and married at age 19 as Bob was beginning his sophomore year at The Ohio State University, where he was studying veterinary medicine. Ann loved interior design and architecture. She drew the floorplans for their home along with Bob's veterinary clinic in Bluffton, Ohio. Ann was also a talented seamstress, sewing clothes for herself and her children, including her daughter's prom dress. She also re-upholstered furniture and was a DIY before it was trendy.
Ann and Bob loved being on the water, which led them to retire on Watts Bar Lake in Tennessee. They built a beautiful home from Ann's designs and enjoyed lake life, boating and making new friends for over 20 years before moving to Mt. Juliet, TN. Ann was a devoted wife, compassionate mother, loving nana and sweet lady.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
