5 Pirate boys on 1st team All-NWC soccer; 11 earn All-NWC notice

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys soccer team placed five players on the Northwest Conference first team in voting recently conducted by the league coaches.

Pirate senior Isaiah Kohli was named the 2025 NWC Player of the Year as well.

He led Bluffton to a 3-0 NWC mark and a 5-9-3 overall record this fall. The Pirates are 49-0-0 all-time in league play with 11 NWC titles in 11 seasons.

Pirate seniors Ethan Blount and Calvin Derstine, as well as juniors Gavin Amstutz and Chase Kelly, were also named first team All-NWC along with Kohli.

Kohli, Kelly and Blount repeated as first-team all-leaguers. 

Five Pirates were named second team all-league. Freshman Gavin Steinmetz, junior Emmitt Kidd, seniors Ollie Combs and Landon Selhorst, and sophomore Brahlen August were the second teamers from Bluffton.

Combs, Selhorst and Derstine were second team All-NWC in 2024.

Senior Ethan Hoffman earned honorable mention status.

Three coaches shared NWC Coach of the Year honors – Bluffton’s Dan Lee, Fletcher Collins of Lincolnview and LCC’s Grant Pisel.
