The following Bluffton Senior Center travel opportunities were announced in the November 2025 Happenings newsletter.

COACH TRIPS WITH TONYA

Winter in Yellowstone | January 19-25, 2026
The tour company says we can still take reservations until November 10. Explore the sparkle of our Nation's First National Park. The wonders of Yellowstone have never felt so close. Under feet of snow, the roads remain off-limits to private vehicles, allowing for a uniquely intimate experience with nature from the warmth of your heated snow coach. The animals of Yellowstone are much easier to see in the winter. The average temperature in January is 24 degrees. But the coaches are nice and warm. Price starts at $3,897. Brochures available in the office. Cost includes airfare, 12 meals and all gratuities. This trip is a level 2. 

Wonders of Iceland | July 9-18, 2026
Join us on a trip around Iceland, Land of Fire and Ice. Iceland's breathtaking landscapes unfold with impressive waterfalls, black sand beaches and steaming geothermal pools. We will circle the whole island on this grand adventure. Watch the sun glisten off icebergs and spot whales swimming in the wild. Airfare is included. Price starts at $6,099.00. $250.00 deposit due at sign up. Brochures available at the Senior Center.

Elvis Christmas Show @ RSM Events, Mentor, OH, Cancelled

Clifton Mill Lights & Youngs Dairy, Yellow Springs Ohio. Wednesday Dec. 10th
Come celebrate the season in a fantastical winter wonderland with over 4 million lights illuminating the mill, the gorge, the riverbanks, trees, and the bridges. There is even a 100 foot "waterfall" of twinkling lights. A Miniature Village, a Santa Claus Museum, a toy collection and a spectacular synchronized lights and music show featuring the old Covered Bridge. We will be having supper (on your own) before the lights at Youngs Dairy, with a variety of food choices (featuring their amazing homemade ice-creams and cheeses) Cost is $82 and is due @ sign up. Departing @ 2 pm. Level 2. 

Joshua at Sight & Sound Theater, March 17-19, 2026
Come along for another exciting Sight and Sound experience! This show promises to take you on a miraculous journey from the banks of the Jordan River to the towering walls of Jericho. We will have a dinner at the Bird-in-Hand restaurant, enjoy a self-guided tour and ice cream at the Turkey Hill Experience and a stop at Hershey's Chocolate World on the way home. Cost is based on occupancy and starts at $667.00 per person/double occupancy. Join us for this remarkable Bible Story. Check brochures at the Senior Center for more details. Departing at 7 a.m. Level 3 First day to sign up is November 11. Full amount due at sign up. 

Scotty McCreery at Blue Gate, Friday, February 13, 2026
Join us for an evening of scrumptious food and awesome entertainment with country music entertainer Scotty McCreery, 2011 American Idol winner! His #1 Gold & Platinum certified singles include "You Time", "It Matters to Her", and "This is It" and so many more! Level 1. Trip departs at 9:00 a.m. Cost is $180 due at sign up. First day to sign up is November 6. 

Riverdance 30th Anniversary, at the Schuster Center, Tuesday, April 7, 2026
Celebrate this milestone with us as we embark on a special anniversary tour! The much-loved original show has new innovative choreography and costumes, state-of-the-art lighting, projection and motion graphics. The Schuster Center is in downtown Dayton. We will have supper at the China Buffet before the show. Level 2. Trip departs at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $155.00, due at sign up. First day to sign up is November 6.

If you want a copy of the Trip Policy, stop by the office and pick one up. We will no longer be able to take credit cards for any trip because of the rising credit card fees. This means that we will no longer be able to take reservations over the phone. All trips must be signed up in person or a check may be sent in the mail.

TRIP ACTIVITY LEVELS

The following is an explanation of the levels assigned to the trips. 

LEVEL 1 Minimal walking through parking lots and drop off locations. Standing while waiting in line and for entrance to tours. Will include steps and uneven surfaces throughout the day and steps in and out of motor coach.

LEVEL 2 Moderate walking/standing, up to half a mile, may include stairs and /or uneven terrain. Plus, on and off motor coach more than once.

LEVEL 3 Lots of walking/standing for multiple hours. May include flights of stairs and /or uneven terrain. Could include long days.

LEVEL 4 Extensive walking/standing, climbing stairs or hilly walkways and /or extended weather exposure.
