John R Koontz worked for Cooper Tire
John R Koontz, 83, passed away November 8, 2025 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. John was born April 10, 1942 in Bluffton to the late Rolland and Mary "Mildred" (Krautter) Koontz who preceded him in death. On August 22, 1970 he married Sue Crawford Koontz who survives.
John attended Bluffton High School and retired from Cooper Tire in Findlay. He had also worked at Lugibihl's Meat Market in Pandora and then Ex-Cello Corporation in Bluffton. John was a member of Mt. Cory Church of Faith. He enjoyed watching sprint car racing, the Ohio State Buckeyes, watching westerns, listening to country music, but most of all, holidays and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Koontz of Bluffton; two sons, Alan (Holly) Koontz of Napoleon, Brian (Missy) Koontz of Findlay; three granddaughters, Stephanie Carter, Ashley Koontz, Brooklyn Koontz; a great-granddaughter, Phoenix Bradlee; a brother, Dan (Nina) Koontz of Bluffton and a sister, Martha (Dick) Hinegardner of Lima.
John was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Carter and a son, Brad Koontz.
John's services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Mt. Cory Church of Faith. Pastor Mike Noggle officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice and Mt. Cory Church of Faith.
