Science of Reading audit results announced for Ohio colleges and universities

MEDIA RELEASE__Ohio Governor Mike DeWine joined Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) Chancellor Mike Duffey on December 16 to announce the results of a recent audit into educator preparation programs (EPPs) at colleges and universities across the state. (Statewide Audit Report)
The audit was conducted to determine the extent to which college EPPs in Ohio are aligned with the Science of Reading, as required by state law.
Bluffton University, Ohio Northern University and the University of Findlay are among 33 institutions that received an “In Alignment” rating.
Bowling Green State University, Defiance College and The University of Toledo are among 10 institutions that received a “Not in Alignment” rating.
