Sara Jane McCune worked for Family Eye Care
Sara Jane McCune, 94, passed away December 24, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
Sara was born May 6, 1931, in Bluffton to Homer and Gladys (Kimmel) Bracy, who preceded her in death. On June 23, 1950, she married George McCune, who preceded her in death on July 8, 2021.
She was a 1949 graduate of Bluffton High School and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ for more than 30 years. She dedicated many years to working as a secretary for Family Eye Care in Bluffton. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing cards at the American Legion and with friends, crocheting, baking sweets, traveling, attending her grandchildren's events, and being involved with her church. She and George always loved hosting their families for holidays, birthdays, and get-togethers. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Stephanie (Bill) Amstutz of Bluffton, Beverly (Greg) Ricker of Pandora, and G. Brian (Kathy) McCune of Bluffton; eight grandchildren, Cory Ricker (deceased), Jason (Nicolette) Amstutz of Laguna Beach, California, Angela (Tony) Diemel of Salem, Virginia, Ashley (Chris Bucci) Weber of Boulder, Colorado, Samantha (Dan) Riley of San Rafael, California, Brandy Ricker of Chicago, Illinois, Emily (Greg) Katzman of Hampstead, North Carolina, and Abbey (Brad) Kordel of Lakewood, Ohio; twelve great-grandchildren, Billie and Tullah Amstutz, Cameron and Sarah Hash, Miles, Quinley and Dean Weber, Laila, Harper and Iris Riley, Carter and Nolan Katzman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Sara was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur Bracy, John Bracy, and Gene Bracy.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services - Bluffton. Rev. Jeremy Mann to officiate the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
