Daryl Eugene Amstutz was a farmer
Daryl Eugene Amstutz passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026 the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
Daryl was born on October 28, 1939, in Bluffton to the late Cleland and Esther (Huber) Amstutz. On May 25, 1992, he married Julie Field Amstutz and she survives.
Daryl graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and proudly served in the United States Army. He was a life-long farmer, bank appraiser and was instrumental in starting Northwest Recycling in Pandora. Daryl had attended Grace Mennonite Church in Pandora.
He enjoyed attending antique car shows and gardening for which he was known for his zinnia patch at the house. Daryl was also very proud of his well-manicured lawn that looked as good as any lawn other than a golf course could look.
He was a member of the Defiance Chapter VMCCA Antique Car Club and past member of the Pandora-Gilboa School Board and the Putnam County ESC Board. Daryl was awarded with the All-Ohio School Board Northwest Region in 1998 from the Ohio School Board Association. He had also served on the First National Bank board, was a past president and secretary of the Putnam County Fair Board and was on the Putnam County Republicans Central Committee. Daryl was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Amstutz of Pandora; four children, Tammy (Chuck) Niese of Pandora, Tim Amstutz of Pandora, Theresa (Mike) Manning of Ogden, Utah, Tara Amstutz of Pandora; seven grandchildren, Derek (Ashley) Niese, Zach (Emily) Niese, Alyssa (Jay) Schnipke, Luke and Olivia Manning, Connor and Keira Amstutz; nine great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Barbara (Tom) Schultz, John Amstutz, Joyce Burnette, Gene (Mary) Amstutz and Mark (Kathy) Amstutz.
Daryl was preceded in death by a son, Randall Amstutz and a brother-in-law, Keith Burnette.
Daryl’s service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. Pastor Matthew Steiner with officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora, where military honors will be performed. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
