By Cort Reynolds
Bluffton High School sophomore guard Maelee Miller was named first team All-Northwest Conference for girls basketball in voting recently conducted by league coaches.
The athletic 5-9 Miller was one of the team leaders in points, three-point goals, assists and steals.
Pirate seniors Blair Utendorf and Macy Schaadt earned honorable mention all-league notice. The versatile wing Utendorf is a solid all-around player, while Schaadt is a good long-range shooter.
The Bluffton girls (12-10) finished 4-3 in the NWC.
Nicole Nesby of outright league champion Columbus Grove (7-0) was named NWC Player of the Year.
Grove mentor Brian Schroeder was tabbed NWC Coach of the Year by his peers.
